Livestreaming is shared attention in real time. This guide explains discovery, chat participation, privacy, and what to do when a broadcast or conversation crosses a line.
Discovering a stream
Use categories and live status to find a broadcast that matches your interests. Read the stream title and creator information before joining. If a stream has ended or is unavailable, return to discovery rather than repeatedly refreshing an empty player.
Participating in chat
Respond to the actual conversation, give other people room to participate, and avoid posting the same message repeatedly. Disagreement is allowed; targeted harassment, threats, hate, impersonation, scams, and sharing private information are not.
Protecting your privacy
Do not post addresses, phone numbers, financial details, credentials, or precise real-time location in public chat. Treat unexpected links and requests for money or account access with caution. FAMUS staff should never need your password in chat.
Reporting a problem
- Leave the stream if you feel unsafe.
- Use the available report control and choose the closest reason.
- Describe the conduct plainly; include the stream or account context when possible.
- For an immediate threat, contact the appropriate local emergency service.
Reports should be made in good faith. Do not use reporting as retaliation for ordinary disagreement.
When content is unavailable
A loading, offline, ended, or empty state is not publisher content. FAMUS does not intentionally place web advertising on those utility states. The interface should explain what happened and provide a useful next step such as retrying, returning to discovery, or reading a public guide.
